George Albert "Bud" Johnson, 79, of Jay, passed from this life on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Bud was born March 8, 1938 in Tulsa, OK to Floyd Emmett and Joel (Woolever) Johnson. He had lived in Jay for 10 years, moving there from Collinsville.

He was a member of the Delaware Tribe. He was a contractor and owned and operated GEO Remodeling in Jay.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Goodnight Johnson, a grandson, Gregory Tollett and his brother, Jerald Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Johnson and wife Shelly of Farmington, New Mexico, and Jody Johnson and wife Janet of Sand Springs; three daughters, Joanna Hadley and husband Mitch of Joplin, Missouri, Katie Varner and husband Rick of Skiatook, and Misty Wood and partner Wes Porter of Seneca, Missouri, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton, with Charlie Diebold conducting Native American rites. Danny Coonrod, Jim Gulley, Tim Cole, Todd Shaw, Mitchell Nuckolls and Leroy Howard will serve as pallbearers.

Services are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
