William “Bill” Thomas Whalen, 81, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at the Legend of Tulsa Hills Senior Living in Tulsa.
Born April 1, 1936 in Troy, New York, Bill graduated from Siena College with a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting.
After college, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He lived in Dallas, Albuquerque and Thousand Oaks, before settling in Grove.
Bill enjoyed being a tax preparer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and was a member of the Grand Lake Sail & Power Squadron.
Survivors include his stepsons Walter M. Davies III (Tulsa) and Eric R. Davies (Broken Arrow), along with their families. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Christine.
A memorial service will be held at the Cayuga Mission Church in Grove, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at Cayuga-Splitlog Mission Church, rural Grove. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service.
