Ramona W. Collins, 82, Grove, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Ramona was born on Nov. 12, 1934 to William and Mary (Taylor) Wadley in Jenks.
As a teen, her family moved to Afton, and Ramona graduated from Afton High School in 1952.
On Oct. 18, 1952, she married the love of her life, James Collins, in Afton and the couple made their home in the Tulsa area.
In 2009, the couple moved to Grove. They were members of the Carter Baptist Church in Afton.
Ramona was a devoted wife of 65 years to her husband James, a homemaker, mother of three, avid gardener and gifted gospel singer. She enjoyed baking and sewing and collecting unique shells and rocks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first born daughter Denise Lyn Hix and three older brothers.
Left to carry on Ramona’s legacy is her husband, Jim Collins, of the home; daughters: Jamie Luker of Coweta, and Felisa Cox and husband, David, of Miami; brother-in-law, Duane Collins and wife, Peggy, of Bixby; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at Trinity Baptist Church in Afton, with Retired Lt Colonel Don Wadley officiating.
