Jay fastpitch softball saw the season end at the Class 4A bi-district tournament in Perkins, as they lost two games to the Perkins-Tryon team.

Perkins-Tryon scored three runs in each of the first and third innings and four in the fifth.

Jay had three runs in the game from Breezy Stoddard, Sydney Taylor and Kaytlynn King.

Jade Frazier pitched the game with five hits, two walks and two strikeouts in the game.

Regan Dry pitched the final game with one strike out and three hits surrendered.

Jay scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Maggie Lokey came home on a Stoddard sacrifice single. Frazier added the other run when she scored on a Taylor bunt that resulted in a Perkins-Tryon error.

Jay had three hits in the game with Frazier, Lokey and Jessie Summerfield getting the hits.

Frazier and Dry combined to pitch on the mound with 14 hits given up along with four walks. They combined to strike out four batters.

What’s next

Jay finishes the season with a 3-24 record. Coach Samie Watson said this season served as a rebuilding period for the Lady Bulldogs, as the team began the season with only three returning starters.

Watson said the young players were plagued by errors most of the season as a result of their inexperience.
