I’m confused. I’m disappointed. I’m disheartened. In fact, I’m right down embarrassed.

I see the news. A group of overpaid prima-donnas, whose egos are larger than the stadium in which they play, kneel on the sideline, refusing to stand and respect the flag.

I know, the first amendment gives them that right. Ironically, many fought and died defending that flag that gives them the freedom to not respect the flag.

Then I read of Coach Kennedy, who coached football for the Bremerton School District near Seattle, Washington, being fired for going to the center of the field, after the games and kneeling down to pray.

Many of his players voluntarily joined him. Why would the first amendment apply to those disrespecting the flag and not to one who honors the Savior? I don’t understand! Isn’t “In God We Trust” still our national motto?

When trouble comes we ask God to bless America, but should America bless God? Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. (Psalms 33:12, NIV) Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people. (Proverbs 14:34, NIV)
