David L. George, 64, of Jay, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at his home after a short illness.
David was born on July 24, 1953, to Landon and Tessa (Mosier) George in Higgins, Texas, where he grew up and graduated high school in 1972.
Following graduation, David enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War. After returning back to the states, he moved to Sasakwa, Oklahoma where he worked as a truck driver.
On August 4, 2000, David married the love of his life, Marty Kay Choate in Sasakwa.
In 2010, the couple moved to Jay where he was employed by Delaware County Dist #2 as a grader operator.
In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He was easy-going, caring and had a beautiful smile that will be missed by all that knew him. He was Christian in faith.
David was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Left to carry on his legacy: wife, Marty Kay George of the home; children: Shannon Tamplen and husband, Joe of Locust Grove, Toby George and wife, Misy of Pryor, Peggy Millspaugh and husband, Gerald of Oklahoma City, Shalane Choate and wife, Becky of Joshua, Texas, Jacob Pippin of Jay, and Ali Choate and partner Rusty Delucia of Breezewood, Pennsylvania; as well as eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services took place on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Sasakwa First Baptist Church in Sasakwa, with Pastor Gary Choate officiating, under the direction of Nichols Funeral & Cremation Services, Grove.
