Women will be celebrated in Grove, this weekend as the Sixth Annual Grand Lake Area Women’s Fair & Expo gets underway.
The event, set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Grove Civic Center, 1702 South Main, is sponsored by The Grove Sun, Bank of Grove and INTEGRIS Grove Hospital.
The one-day event will feature a variety of vendors, food, musical entertainment, special demonstrations, mini-workshops, prizes and more.

New this year, will be the Cupcake Wars sponsored by Harps. The competition will take place in the morning and will feature a pre-determined theme.
Representatives from Harps Bakery will provide everything needed for the competition, which is a timed event. Cupcakes will be judged members of the Harps Bakery team. A people's choice award will also be given.
A limited number of spaces will be available. Sign ups will be on a first come, first served basis at the expo.
Additionally, vendors will be on hand to promote, pamper and give opportunities to purchase some of the latest items of interest to women.
"The women’s show is an opportunity to help enrich, inspire and encourage women’s lives by having fun through education, demonstrations and of course, shopping,” said Cheryl Franklin, publisher of the Grove Sun. “There will also be a lot of focus on women’s health.”
Along with the Women’s Fair & Expo, the 2017 Grand Lake’s Most Inspirational Woman will be announced and awarded a prize package.
