Participants of all ages are invited to a community celebration of the biblical Fall Feasts of the Lord with House of David Ministries.

The events include:

• Yom Kippur Service, 7:45 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29.

• Yom Kippur Immersion, 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30.

• Sukkot Celebration, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4.

About the services

The services mark the biblical new year, with Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets or the Head of the Year). The feast marks a time of “new beginnings," followed by a time of atonement on Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement); and then ending with a celebration of ingathering or harvest time with the Lord, on Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles).

The feasts are designed to help people remember the Lord's great mercy, goodness, and grace over their lives and those within the community.

“This year is prophetically significant as it is Israel’s 70th anniversary as a modern nation-state," Curt Landry said.

Seventy is a sacred number: The number seven represents perfection and 10 represents completion.

"It is interesting that Israel’s 70th anniversary coincided with the 'new beginnings' we see in 5778—number eight being symbolic of new beginnings," Landry said. "I do not think that this is an accident or coincidence; I believe that God is trying to speak to us about His perfection found in new beginnings."
