Jay and Kansas cross country team competed in meets in Claremore, Inola and Siloam Springs as they move closer to the post season activities.
Siloam Spring Cross Country Meet
High School Girls
The Jay High School girls finished in third place in team points in the small school division. Junior Brittany Reece finished in 18th place, Aryn Wilson 22nd, Jacklyn Duncan 23rd, Lexi Farley 33rd, Elizabeth Hodge 34th and Bailee Bishop 40th.
High School Boys
Jay boys finished 10th as team in the small school division with Lewis Moulton, Jaden Shotpouch, Bailey Allen, Gage Bishop, Caleb Buzzard, Leo Feregrino, Victor Pichardo, Trevor Buck, Caleb Meeker and Wyatt Johnson all running for the Bulldogs.
Inola Cross Country Meet
High School Boys (11th and 12th grade)
Jay senior Jaden Shotpouch finished in third place with a time of 19:30.17 in the five-kilometer run. Junior Lewis Moulton was seventh with a 19:57.88. Senior Bailey Allen was 17tn and junior Jett Gibe 18th in the race.
Seniors Trevor Buck, Caleb Meeker, Darin Smith and junior Wyatt Johnson also competed in the race.
Jacob Roendenbeck finished 15th for Kansas running a time of 21:34.70 while Ryan King was 30th with a time of 25:36.
High School Boys (9th and 10th grade)
LRay Kirk, Leo Feregrino and Gage Bishop finished 14th-16th place for the Jay Bulldogs. Jayden Mayberry was 25th, Victor Picahardo 27th while Caleb Buzzard, Jacob Fales and Joseph Fales also ran the race for the Bulldogs.
Trenton Fields finished 35th and Trey Foster 46th for the Comets. The ninth and 10th grade boys ran a five-kilometer race.
High School Girls (11th and 12th grade)
Junior Brittany Reece won the silver medal at the event with a run of 13:27.87 in the two-mile race while fellow juniors Jacklyn Duncan and Bailee Bishop were ninth and 17th for the Lady Bulldogs.
High School (9th and 10th Grade)
Lexi Farley finished in 22nd place for Jay while Aryn Wilson was 25th. Elizabeth Hodge and Carime Johnson also ran the race for Jay.
Elijah Coatney finished with the silver medal for the seventh grade boys with a time of 6:02:49 for the Bulldogs. J.C. Moffett was fifth in the seventh and ran in a time of 6:31.32.
Aliiah Barrows and Kyleigh Buzzard finished in the top of the eighth grade girls at seventh and eighth place.
In local elementary boys, Tray Taylor of Kansas finished in third place while Jay’s Gage Walker was eighth and followed by four runners from Kansas Paul New, Max Noe, Kaleb Jones and Seneca Steele who finished in eighth through 11th place.
Jay’s Taylor Holt was sixth in elementary girls while Kateland Holt was 10th.
Claremore Cross Country Meet
Jay girls finished in second place as a team behind Pryor. Moffett finished in third place, Kyleigh Buzzard fifth, Taylor Holt ninth and Marisis Foremand 14th. Gracie Greer was 20th while Shelby Wiser and Juliah Johnson also ran for Jay.
Jay boys finished in seventh place as a team led by Coatney and Kyle Sixkiller who were fifth and 12th in the race.
High School Girls
Reece was the top finisher for Jay with a seventh place finish. Wilson was 22nd and Karlee Rush 25th and Farley 27th.
