“Looking out over the lake I felt enveloped in the most peaceful, loving utopia.” - Harriet Tubman
Lake conditions remain the same. Water temperature is dropping slowly.
Shad are schooling up in the backs of secondary cuts off the main lake. Both black and white bass are following the bait and hitting top water lures. Timing is important because they’re busting one minute and gone the next.
Anglers are catching good numbers of crappie but still not many keepers. The bite is shallower (8-10’) over deeper brush on dark colored jigs. Catfish continue to bite on perch, and there’s no problem netting shad for bait.
Last week we spent some fishing time on Lake Hudson. Being more of a river system than a lake it provides a subtle change from Grand.
We have a great variety of fishable water here in Northeast Oklahoma that is often forgotten. Here’s some of the catches from our recent trips to Lake Hudson.
Until next time…keep your hook in the water
