Melvin Ray Formby II, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Health Care, in Bryan, Texas.

He was born on March 30, 1959 in Tulsa, the son of Melvin and Eunice (Rodriquez) Formby.

Melvin loved all sports, especially college football and watching the Tour de France. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.

Those who knew him know he never complained; even when he was have a bad day. He would be asked “How are you feeling”, his response would be simple; “I’m feeling fair to Midland”.

Melvin is preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Nancy Formby.

He is survived by his children: Jillian Haney and husband Chad, Jordan Formby and Danielle Williams, Haven Scarmardo and husband Ty, Holland Winkler and husband Cole; grandchildren, Caryton, Carter, Jackson, Gage and Cash; father, Mel Formby; sisters, Dory Scarmardo and Sherry Smith; brother, Benjamin Formby; and nieces and nephews, David, Ryan, Sophie, Summer, Sage, Lincoln, Libby, Oakes, Jack, Vince and Hank.

Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9 at Carr Cemetery in Cooks Point. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
