The Jay Lady Bulldog softball team continues to look for its first win of the season dropping games to Oologah (11-1), Vinita (14-2) and Claremore Sequoyah (11-0) during the week.

Jay got its lone run in the first inning when sophomore Sydney Taylor scored off a passed ball by the Oologah catcher.

The Lady Bulldogs finished with no hits in the game and committed seven errors.

Junior Regan Dry pitched for Jay with one strike and two walks in the game while giving up eight hits.

Jay scored their runs in the bottom of the third inning when Taylor and Maggie Lokey scored off a Jessie Summerfield RBI single.

Lokey and Summerfield had hits for the Lady Bulldogs with one hit each.

Senior Jade Frazier pitched for the team on the mound with one strike out and not walks. She gave up six hits. Dry came in for one inning with three hits and no strikes or walks.

Mistakes continued for the young Lady Bulldogs as they finished with 12 errors in the game.

Jay finished with four hits in the game led by Summerfield with while freshman Kierra Wiley and Kaytlynn King also had hits.

Dry took the loss with one strike out and two walks.

What’s next?

Jay hosted Locust Grove Tuesday, Sept. 5 and was scheduled to play in the Afton Tournament but the tournament didn’t have enough teams to play. The Lady Bulldogs will host Stilwell Tuesday, Sept. 12.
