Lynn Ritter passed away at the age of 83, Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1934 in Baldwin Township, Newton County, Arkansas.
On June 3, 1961, Lynn married the love of her life, her husband of 57 years, Carroll Clay Ritter.
Together they spent many years working the restaurant they owned in San Pablo, California. After that, Lynn and her husband worked as long haul truckers driving across the country together. She then spent the next 43 years farming with her husband in Jay.
Lynn was an amazing woman that loved spending time with her family, growing beautiful flowers, gardening, reading, and raising cattle...but she did not much like the chickens. In 2014, they moved to Prairie Grove, Arkansas and retired from the farm,
Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Reba Bennett and her husband Sam Bennett.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, Carroll Clay Ritter; her daughter Malinda McCoy and husband John of Mount Ida, Arkansas; her son Stephen E. Nail and wife Jennifer, of Broken Arrow; her grandchildren: Danny McCoy, Patricia McCoy-Trantham, John McCoy III, Stephen J. Nail, Shona Cooper, Sam Bennett IV, Tammy Pierson, and Raymond Bennett; her great-grandchildren: Bryan McCoy, Kelsey McCoy, Caitlin Trantham, Casey Trantham, Aiden McCoy, Liza Nail, Bradley Nail, Jasmine Cooper, Alex Pierson, Yvette Bennett, Elizabeth Bennett; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will take place on at noon, Thursday, Sept. 7, followed by a service at 12:45 p.m., at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home, Springdale. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
