Ridgerunners High School Football kicks off their season in full swing on Friday, Sept. 1, against Sequoyah in Claremore at 7 p.m.
David Dills a senior, leads the Ridgerunners at the starting quarterback after being sidelined last year from an early injury.
Dills only played one game during his junior year boasting 154 passing yards with a completion rate of 50 percent.
During his single game last year Dills also threw for two touchdowns averaging 22 yards a play.
While not enough game time to accurately determine how this year will go for Dills, Grove Head Football Coach Ron Culwell said, “he is recovered and doing well."
Dills is expected to lead the Ridgerunners into their season after playing in the preseason scrimmages.
Culwell expects this Friday's game to challenging, yet good, as it sets the pace going into the season.
The Ridgerunners will not host a home game until they meet Stillwell on Sept. 15 in their last match up before the start of district play.
Ridgerunners fans will also start to see the starting lineup take form this Friday as Culwell was still shuffling players this week based on skill-sets and their improvement during preseason games.
