Max Ray Keene, 80, formerly of Grove, passed away at his residence in Beggs, on Monday, July 31, 2017.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1936, in Grove, to Helen Margaret (Fields) Keene and Max Keene.

Max graduated from Grove High School with the class of 1955. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served as a SP3. He was honorably discharged in 1958.

Max married Vicki Gayle (Leming) Keene on March 6, 1961, in Miami. Together they had four loving children. He oversaw the veteran's area at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens as a groundskeeper, until his retirement in 1999.

Max was preceded in death by his parents: Helen and Max Keene.

Survivors include his loving wife, Vicki Gayle (Leming) Keene of the home; children: Patricia, Debbie and her husband Monte, Tammi and her husband Greg, and Rebecca and her husband Kevin; siblings: Bobbie Keene of Edmond, Charles Keene of Locust Grove, Jimmy Keene of Grove, Sharon Barnes of Cleveland, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many other caring family and friends.

Services took place on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel, in Glenpool, with the Rev. Monte Youman officiating.

A military service took place on Thursday, Aug. 3, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, in Fort Gibson, under the direction of Schaudt's Funeral Service and Cremation Care Centers, Glenpool. Family and friends may view obituary and leave tributes at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
