Members of the Jay FFA had a busy month in July attending a number of events.

During July 12 to 15 members departed for a four day retreat to the Oklahoma FFA Alumni Camp located on the campgrounds of Camp Tulakogee in Wagoner County.

At the camp, members were split up into small groups, with other FFA members from across the state, with an FFA Alumni member as their leader.

Following the small group sessions, campers met at certain times throughout the day and connected with each other.

Members who attended left with new friendships which will last a lifetime.

“First time at camp I was expecting it to be somewhat like the state convention," Steen Lane said. "But arriving and seeing what I saw changed my thoughts."

Brandon Neu agreed.

“It was definitely a super fun thing and I hope we get to do more stuff together like that again,” Neu said.

On July 27 and 28, the officers hosted an officer retreat. On the first day, officers cleaned and arranged the greenhouse for the start of the school year. Afterward, members met to discuss and make plans for the upcoming school year.

On July 28, after taking team photos, the officers took a bus to Bentonville, Arkansas, where they took part in an escape room team building activity.

While the team did not "escape" before the time deadline, officers said the experience gave them a chance to build connections with each other for the coming school year.
