VBS at New Hope

South Grand Lake Baptist VBS

Volunteers for South Grand Lake Baptist Church will host the final night of “Galactic Starveyors” Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, July 28, at the church. The Children’s program will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 30.

Pancake Feed in Grove

Volunteers will host a pancake feed 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at Grace Harbor Baptist Church, in Grove.

Cost is $5 per person and proceeds benefit the Grove Second Grade Football Team, part of the NDCAA/Green Country League.

Monthly Community Sing

Volunteers at Grove Assembly of God the monthly gospel sing, at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 29, at the church, 29080 South 637 Road (east Highway 10), Grove.

The event will include a mix of gospel and contemporary music. Singers/groups are encouraged to take part. This month's featured singer is traditional gospel vocalist Bud Duke, from Stillwater.

Movie Night at Foundation

The Case For Christ, the story that showcases a journalist's quest for truth, will take place at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 30, as the third Fifth Sunday Movie Night at Foundation Free Will Baptist Church, at the church. The movie is based upon the book of the same title written by Lee Strobel.

The event is free and includes popcorn and other refreshments.

Back to School Block Party

Volunteers from First United Methodist Church, Grove, will host a Back to School Block Party, from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 13, at the church, 1005 Leisure Road, Grove.

The event is designed to kick off the school year with some fun. It will include bounce houses, music, free hair cuts for students, games, giveaways, a dunk tank and more.

Walk for Life

The annual Abundant Blessing Center Walk for Life will take place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, starting at the Grove Sports Complex.

A timed 5K, it is open to both runners and walkers. It also includes a one-mile fun run/walk.

Cost is $25 per person for the timed 5K, $20 for a one-mile fun run. Persons interested may register by Sept. 10, in order to receive a t-shirt on the day of the race. After Sept. 10, registration for the 5K increases to $30.

Beth Moore Simulcast

Volunteers at First United Methodist Church, Grove, will host a Beth Moore Simulcast, Captivated, the Wonder of Christ on the Winding Road, from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, at the church.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $20, which includes lunch, snack, childcare and door prizes. Free childcare is available, with pre-registration for students six months to 10 years.

Tickets may be purchased at the church or at Trench Brothers Graphics, 407 South Main, Grove.

Right Choices Corn Maze

The staff of the Right Choices Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch will hold its half price opening weekends on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 and 17, and Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23 and 24, at the maze near Southwest City, Mo.

The corn maze and pumpkin patch is open from Saturday, Sept. 16, to Sunday, Oct. 29, at 1161 Manning Road, Southwest City, Mo.

Bluegrass Jam at St. Andrew's

Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the weekly Bluegrass Jam from 6 to 9 p.m., every Monday, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Grove.

All ages and levels of ability are welcome. The event is open to the whole family.

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The event is designed to provide soup to anyone, no questions asked. No preaching, just "made from scratch soup."

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community. 

Treasure Quest at Cornerstone

Students Kindergarten to Sixth Grade are invited to participate in Treasure Chest, every Sunday at 10:15 a.m. at Cornerstone Church, Grove.

The event includes a variety of activities for students to take part in, while their parents are in morning worship.
