GAMA Farmers' Market
The Grove Area Merchants Farmers' Market is open for the 2017 season.
The market, organized by GAMA members, takes place from 8 a.m. - noon every Wednesday and Saturday at the Grove Community Center, 104 W. Third, Grove.
This is a producer-only market. Everything is handmade or home-grown. Spots for vendors remain available. Local musicians interested in taking part in the market are encouraged to do so.

Christmas in July Sale
Volunteers with the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Auxiliary will host the annual Christmas in July Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, at the hospital atrium.
At least 10 vendors, from the Grove region, will exhibit a variety of crafts including stained glass, woodworking, handmade jewelry, floral wreaths, yarn art, stationary, soaps and more.
Proceeds from the event benefit programs sponsored by the auxiliary.
Movies in the Park - Langley
Volunteers with the town of Langley will host a "Movies in the Park," a free family-friendly event, in the Village Park in Langley throughout the next three months.
The season will feature eight movies outside in the Village Park, in the south baseball field, at dark.
Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets an hour or so before the movie begins.
Remaining movies include:
• July 28 - The Blind Side
• Aug. 11 - A Dog's Purpose
• Aug. 25 - Pete's Dragon
If there is a chance of inclement weather, the movie will be shown the following week.

Badshot Gun Show
A gun trade show, hosted by BadShot Gun Shows, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 29, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 30, at the Grove Civic Center, 1702 South Main, Grove.
Admission is $8, with veterans, law enforcement or firefighters admitted for $7. Persons who bring a gun to trade or sell will receive a dollar off admission. Tables may be rented for $50.

Minion Skate in Grove
Dave Minion, fresh from Despicable Me 3, will be the featured guest during the "Skate and lunch with Dave Minion" set for Sunday, July 30, at Rocket Skating Plus in Grove.
The event, set for 1 to 4 p.m., for lunch and skating or 2 to 4 p.m., for skating, will take place at Rocket Skating Plus, located at 61805 East 315 Road, in Grove.
Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite minion costumes. Parents or guardians are encouraged to bring a camera to snap memories of their skater with Dave.
Tickets purchased in advance will get participants inside the doors 15 minutes early. Tickets for the lunch and skate are $10, while skating only is $5.
No free passes may be used during the event. Parents or adults, accompanying a child, who do not skate will be admitted for free.
Tickets will be available in advance or at the door. Lunch includes up to two slices of pizza, a drink and a snack.

Outdoor Summer Movie Series
Volunteers with the City of Miami will host an Outdoor Summer Movie Series at Miami Municipal Swimming Pool, on two remaining dates this summer.
The movies, set for 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, features Moana. Both of those screenings will take place at the Miami Municipal Swimming Pool. For those shows admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids and those 5 and under are free.
Food trucks will be available for each evening. Participants are encouraged to "pack up the kids, grab your baskets" and join the fun.

Veterans Bowling Event
Officials with Thunderbowl Lanes of Grove will host a free, open bowling for all veterans and their families, from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, at Thunderbowl Lanes, 28300 South 620 Road (Cherokee Street), Grove.
The event is sponsored by the American Legion, VFW, DAV and the Spavinaw Youth & Neighborhood Center. Concessions will be available.

The annual Jay Cruise Night will take place from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, in Jay. The event will include entertainment, drawings, a poker run, a 50/50 pot and more.

Art on the Lake
A family-friendly art show, known as Art on the Lake, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 12, at Har-Ber Village in Grove.
The event is designed to give artists a chance to showcase their work, and provide them an outlet to connect artists and patrons.
There is no space for artists to reserve a space, however, pre-registration is required by Friday, Aug. 4.
The event is free with admission: $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors 62 and above, $5 for children 6 to 13, and free for children under 6 and for village members.

AARP Driver Safety Program
Local classes for the AARP Driver Safety Program will take place in March to December. The one-day course is six hours in length. Drivers will be able to obtain a discount from their insurance carriers for taking the course.
The classes are open to all interested drivers, including those who have taken it in the past. Upcoming class dates are Wednesdays, Aug. 30, Sept. 27, Oct. 4 and Nov. 29, and Saturday Dec. 9.

Jana Jae Fiddle Camp
Volunteers from Grand Lake Festivals in Grove will host the annual Jana Jae Fiddle Camp Friday, Sept. 1, to Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Grove Civic Center and Snider's Camp.
The event kicks off with a BBQ dinner and jam session at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 1, at Snider's Camp. Cost is $8 per plate, with participants encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Saturday and Sunday’s events include registration at 9 a.m., group sessions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., all at the civic center.
Saturday's evening events include a fish fry at 6:30 p.m., at Snider's Camp. The fish fry, at $8 per plate, will also feature amateur fiddle contest and special entertainment.
On Sunday, evening, following the day’s workshops, an informal “picking’ party” and jam session will continue at Snider’s camp.
The event is not just for fiddlers, those playing violin, viola, cello, mandolin, guitar, bass and other string and rhythm instruments are included, and the workshop is open to participants regardless of age or prior experience.
Anyone who plays the guitar or wants to learn to play the guitar may sign up to participate in this weekend with Jim Garling who will be instructing guitar workshop the entire weekend!!

Monkey Island Fireworks
The annual fireworks display at Monkey Island will take place on Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Grand Lake Regional Airport on Monkey Island. The event was rescheduled from the Fourth of July weekend because of rain.
The show will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. 3-D glasses will be available for sale for the fireworks show.
REC Day, known as Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative’s annual meeting, takes place this year on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Grove Civic Center, 1702 South Main, Grove.
Events begin at 8 a.m., with free donuts and coffee, and arts and crafts booths, on the civic center parking lot.
Inside the civic center, participants will register for the meeting, vote for representatives and visit a variety of vendors.
The event will also include both indoor and outdoor entertainment, an outdoor kidzone, complete with games, prizes, and student registration for computer drawings.
Registration is open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Grove Civic Center. Participants do not have to be present to win most of the door prizes.
Paper the town with Art
Paper the town with art, an arts festival sponsored by members of the Grove Springs Cultural District, will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, throughout the downtown area and at satellite locations within Grove.
The event is designed to serve as a chance for artist - visual and performing alike - to showcase their work.

Right Choices Corn Maze
The staff of the Right Choices Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch will hold its half price opening weekends on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 and 17, and Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23 and 24, at the maze near Southwest City, Mo.

Taste of Grand
Culinary connoisseurs will travel from near and far for Grand Lake’s premier food and wine tasting event, Taste of Grand, set for 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at 900 East 13 Street, in the parking lot of INTEGRIS Grove Hospital in Grove.
Taste of Grand, designed as a fundraiser for the INTEGRIS Foundation, is presented by major event sponsor, Bank of Grove. More than 25 food and wine vendors are scheduled to take place offering food and drinks.
The popular Wes Hart Band will add to the ambience with live music to dance to or simply enjoy.
Ticket sales will begin on Aug. 1. All proceeds benefit the INTEGRIS Foundation, a nonprofit organization that funds continuing advancements in local health care and medical treatments for those in need.

Winterst, the annual fundraiser for the Delaware County Children's Special Advocacy Network, will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Robinett Event Center in Jay.
Tickets will be available for purchase at area banks or by calling the center. This year's theme is "The Roaring 20s." Period clothing or semi-formal dress is encouraged.
Proceeds from the event, which also includes a live and silent auction, helps fund DCCSAN programing, which includes assisting in child abuse investigations and providing counseling, advocacy and court preparation for the children in our county that have been victims of abuse.
