Several members of the Grove Rotary Club were recognized on Wednesday, July 19, during the club awards at First United Methodist Church, Grove.

During the session, officials thanked members who served as chairmen of various committees and board members.

Christy Wright, president for the 2016-17 year, passed the gavel and leadership on to Andy Stewart, who will assume the role for the 2017-18 year.

Several members were honored for their contributions to the club during the 2016-17 Rotary year including:

• Vida Howard, Newcomer of the Year.

• Pauline Hale, Club Member of the Year.

• Carol LaRue, Foundation Member of the Year.

Additionally, Ivan Devitt was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a past president of the Grove Rotary Club and also served as an Assistant Governor for District 6110. He was instrumental in positioning the club for the success it shares today.
