John Elmo and Marsha Butler of Dodge will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 28, 2017.
John Elmo Butler and Marsha Houck were married on July 28, 1967 at Dodge Baptist Church, with the Rev. John E. Butler officiating. They have lived in the Dodge community since. She is the daughter of Marshall and Dolores Houck. He is the son John E. and Clara May Butler.
The couple have two sons: Kyle and Kreg, both of the Dodge community. Kyle and his wife, Teresa, have two children: Kati, who resides in St. Mary's, Georgia, and Kody and wife Emilea of Miami. Kreg and his wife Erika have four children and one grandson: Koal of Fort Worth, Texas, Sage and son Rhett of Jay, and Kash and Kord of the home.
The Butlers will celebrate their anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 30, at the Grand Lake Event Center, on Highway 59, northeast of downtown Grove. The omission of gifts is requested, but cards would be appreciated.
