A Southwest City man is dead following a robbery at Grove pharmacy in the overnight hours of Monday, July 17.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, members of the Grove Police Department were called to the Annie's Galleria shopping complex on Third Street, after the body of Danny Hudson, 46, was found near an electrical box behind Raggedy's Restaurant.

Grove Police Chief Mark Morris said Hudson's body was discovered by an employee arriving for work.

While the man was found near an electrical box, Morris said he did not appear to have been electrocuted.

His body was transported to the Medical Examiner's office in Tulsa for autopsy.

While the cause of Hudson's death is unknown, Morris said officers have linked him to a burglary at the RX Shoppe, which took place at approximately 9:30 p.m., on Monday.

Teresa Butler, pharmacist with RX Shoppe, said video taken at the time of the break-in shows Hudson gaining access to the the building by "kicking the sliding glass doors" until they opened. At least one pane of glass was broken in the doorway.

Butler said employees identified Hudson, who had been a customer at the pharmacy in the past.

In the video, Butler said, it appears he was searching for specific medication.

Butler said five bottles were taken including two muscle relaxers, and one each of ADD medication, hydrocodone, and pain medication.

Butler said the video indicates a five minute delay between when Hudson broke into the building and when she was notified by the pharmacy's alarm company.

Butler was gone before members of the Grove PD arrived on the scene. He was found at the time of his death with some of the bottles of medication still in his possession.

No other burglaries were reported in the overnight hours of Monday evening/Tuesday morning.

Morris said anyone with information about the incidents or concerning Hudson are asked to contact the Grove Police Department at 918-786-6121.
