Charles “Clifford” Baker, 83, Kansas, died Monday, July 17, 2017, at VA Medical Center, Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Born June 4, 1934, in Flint, Oklahoma, he was the son of Charlie Franklin Baker and Ellar Williams Baker.

Clifford and Alta Garner were married on Nov. 1, 1958, near Kansas. He was a graduate of Kansas High School in Kansas.

Clifford was employed by Oklahoma Upholstery and Supply in Tulsa for more than 10 years. He owned and operated Baker’s Laundromat and Baker’s Feed store.

He was a volunteer fireman for Kansas Fire Department for more than 20 years and also a foreman for Delaware County.

Clifford was a member of Lowery Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting both deer and quail.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kurt Baker in 1978.

Survivors include his wife Alta of the home; son Karl Baker of Lowell, Arkansas; aunts Dolly Wofford of Tahlequah, and Juanita Williams of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 24, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Services will take place at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church, Twin Oaks, and burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery in Kansas.
