Senior citizens will dance the day away for the 10th year, during the annual "senior prom" but in a different location.

Officials have moved the Grand Lake Area Senior Prom from the Grove Civic Center, to the Seneca Cayuga Tribe Community Building, 24805 South 655 Road, Grove, in an effort to keep the event free.

The Renaissance festival-themed dance will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14.

Good Shepherd Hospice employee Hannah Frazier said along with a free lunch, attendees will experience entertainment by Duke Mason and compete for door prizes. There will also be a “best-dressed” competition for those who come in Renaissance attire, but attendees do not have to dress up.

“We’re just going to have a good time,” Frazier said.

Persons interested may call 918-786-6182 to register for the event. Groups of six people or more may reserve a table and individuals reserve a seat.

Sponsors for the event include Good Shepherd Hospice, Amedisys Home Health, Windridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Quail Ridge Living Center, Grove Nursing Center and Wyandotte, Eastern Shawnee, Quapaw, Peoria and Ottawa nations.
