Members of the 2017-18 leadership team for the Grove High School FFA Chapter attended the 45th annual Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp July 5 to 8 at the Tulakogee Conference Center in Wagner.

More than 1,600 members from 300 Oklahoma FFA chapters attended one of four camp sessions. Those representing Grove included: Mia McCool, Emily Knowles, Danette Kirby and Rylee Caswell.

“The Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp allows students to participate in fun-filled, action-packed activities focused on leadership development.” said Grove FFA Advisor Garrett Bergman.

Agriculture programs, such as the leadership camp, prepare students for careers in industries like biotechnology, renewable energies, engineering, food production, and more. The programs also teach students how to be leaders and prepare them to take on the challenges of the next generation.

“Alumni Camp was so amazing," Kirby said. "Not only did we get to make friends with other FFA members from across the state of Oklahoma, but we will also get to share and apply the things we learned from camp within our FFA chapter."

With 80 students, the Grove High School ag education program offers a variety of classes including ag exploration and orientation, agriscience II, agribusiness, agribusiness, animal science, and ag power and technology.
