“Remember when your GPS and fish finder were rolled up into one unit called Grandpa?”

The holiday is behind us and we can now get down to Grand Lake summer fishing.

Water levels will hopefully remain stable, water temperatures should slowly rise, and color is a good ‘Grand Lake green’.

We had some excellent crappie trips this week on minnows in 15 to 20 feet in or around baited docks. We caught 50 but only 10 were keepers. There were a lot of youngsters fishing and they had a blast.

Here’s Jack Boone with one of the keepers. Black bass were hit or miss, depending on the time of day and weather conditions. Big worms on ledges are beginning to be productive.

White bass continue to school up early and late on main lake points.

Until next time…keep your hook in the water
