Daisy Catherine Brashear, 87-year-old resident of Delaware County, went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 16, 2017.
Catherine was a member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church of Oaks. She also attended the Osage Church of God in Sperry.
Catherine’s famous line was “I know where I’m going” (Heaven). She was a homemaker, operated the O’Leary Used Furniture, Twin Oaks Drive Inn and Brashear’s Drive Inn in Jay, Oklahoma. Most recently she was a care provider in Tulsa.
Catherine is preceded in death by her brother, Ray (Blackie) Brashear in 1946, her sister Dorothy Mabray in 1986, brother Frank Brashear in 1993. Catherine was married to Lawrence O’Leary of Oaks, for 25 years. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Catherine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda O’Leary of Jay. Nany Catherine is also survived by her three grandsons and their spouses and children: Larelee and Rebecca O’Leary, their daughter Baylee Ann of Colcord, Larren O’Leary and Megan Klossner, their daughter Laney Grace Marie O’Leary and Kaleb King of Jay, Lariet Ray O’Leary of Coweta, and Laramy and Ami O’Leary, their daughter Lara Marie and Landon Davis of Jay.
Catherine has two surviving brothers, Ed Brashear and his wife Martha of Davis, California, Earl Brashear, Jr. of Muskogee, and one sister Virginia Brockmeier of Tulsa. Nany Catherine is survived by lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Everyone who knew Catherine recognized she always had a comment to make whether good or bad. Even though Nany could be a spit-fire, she was loyal to her faith in believing in Jesus. Catherine was an excellent cook and enjoyed running her restaurants providing great food for her customers. She enjoyed making pies for the grandkids, especially chocolate pies.
