Jacqueline (Jackie) Phyllis Ng was born in Guandong Province, Taishan, China on Aug. 28, 1941 to Joseph and Jane Eng.
Joseph was a US citizen who built ships in the Philadelphia Navy Yard during World War II. Jackie emigrated to the USA with her mother at the age of 4 on the GI bill.
They settled in Camden, New Jersey, and ran a laundry. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She married Mainy Ng in February of 1962.
They settled in Trenton New Jersey, where they raised one son and two daughters. A second son, Steven, died as an infant.
Jackie worked as a telephone operator as her first and only job for 30 years. In addition, they raised vegetable gardens, traveled, and did several missionary projects to build churches in the Dominican Republic.
In 2005, they moved to Grove to retire. Unfortunately a car accident crippled Jackie several years later. Mainy cared for her as long as he could until they both became residents of the Grand Lake Villa Nursing home in 2017, where she passed away on June 20, 2017.
Jackie is survived by her husband Mainy, son Kenneth, and daughters DeAnna and Holly. Kenneth is married to Veronica, and they have two boys, James and Brian. DeAnna is married to Chuck, with a son Christopher and a daughter McKenna. Holly is married to Scott, they have a son Joey, a daughter Melissa, and a granddaughter Olivia.
Services took place on Monday, June 26, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Online condolences can be made by viewing Jackie's Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com.
