Members of the Delaware County 4-H Rabbit Club will host a rabbit roundup day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 24, at the Delaware County Fairgrounds located between Grove and Jay on Highway 59.

The event, according to Lea Ann Chandler, Delaware County 4-H leader, is designed to give youth a day to learn about raising and showing rabbits.

The workshop is open to any youth interested in learning about rabbits, not just those who are 4-H exhibitors.

Topics covered in the session include raising and showing rabbits, information on the American Rabbit Breeders Association, showmanship, judging and rabbit selection and basic breed presentations from experienced breeders and exhibitors.

"We want to give the kids a chance to learn more about showing rabbits and teach them showmanship," Chandler said.

Students from ages 5 to 19 will be able to participate in he showmanship and breed identification contests. A lunch may be purchased by participants for $5 which include a hot dog, chips, drink and dessert.

For more information, persons interested may call the Delaware County Extension Office at 918-253-4332.
