“Life is a transition, the same can be said for fishing “

Grand Lake is stabilizing into summer patterns. Once we reach summer pool the fishing will be predictable.

Water color is dirtier up the river but clearer south, and temperatures range in the lower 80’s. We are beginning to see an increase in zebra mussels. Check your line.

We had some great white bass trips last week mid lake on jigging spoons; the ½ oz Bendable Minnow is perfect.

The Grand Lake Sports Center carries them. Vertical presentation, along with casting, produced once we found the schools. I’ve included a picture of what they may look like on your electronics, and what happens when you find them.

I know bigger black bass are being caught, but our fish, although plentiful and fat, have not been giants. I think the large fish have moved out deeper to main and secondary points, and I plan on testing the pattern this week. I’m also going to begin working breakwaters using top water baits.

Until next time…keep your hook in the water
