The Grove School Board will vote this week during the regular school board meeting whether to raise the adult lunch and breakfast prices by a quarter.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 13 at the Grove Administration Building located on 210 South Broadway, in Grove.
Approval of the raise would put the school in compliance with the Oklahoma State Department of Education Child Nutrition federal regulations.
Currently the adult price is $2 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch.
The board will also vote whether to adopt three policies recommended by the school’s legal counsel. The policies involve the school’s lunch service, the lunch-breakfast program and the school’s Wellness Policy.
Employment issues to be approved is the hiring of four elementary teachers, a one-hour adjunct teacher at the Upper Elementary campus, and a Middle School teacher. In addition, to be approved is an assistant high school boys’ Basketball Coach.
All positions are for temporary contracts for the upcoming school year.
The board will also vote whether to approve transferring an Upper Elementary Teacher to Indian Education Elementary Teacher with a stipend of $1,500 and the hiring of an Indian Education Coordinator with a $3,000 stipend. Both stipends will be paid from Johnson O'Malley and Title VI Indian Education federal funds.
Other employment issues is the hiring of a part-time Safety Director/E-rate Coordinator for three hours a day on a yearly salary of $15,000, a part-time Technology Director on a yearly salary of $35,000, a Performing Arts Center Manager for the summer ending June 30 for $1,500 and a position for the upcoming school year. The pay for the position for the full year has not been set but is between $5,000 to $6,000.
The board will vote to hire two classroom-teaching assistants, transfer a teacher assistant to a paraprofessional teacher assistant and transfer an employee from high school in-school-suspension to maintenance secretary/custodian position at a base pay of $9 per hour plus years of service. In addition, to be approved is the hiring of two full time night custodians.
In financial business, the school board will vote whether to approve to renew lease agreements with Bank of Grove for the Administration Building, which has a May 15, 2019 maturity date, and the Turf field, which has an August 1, 2024 maturity date.
In addition, to be approved is a lease agreement with Grand Savings Bank for buses, which has a December 16, 2020 maturity date.
The board will vote whether to approve several computer related bids involving Chromebooks, Microsoft Desktop Education license and software, Microsoft Windows Server Standard Edition license and software, Microsoft System Center Standard Edition license and software bids and Aerohive AP- an access point device.
Contracts with Precision Testing Laboratories, Inc., Weaver Drug Testing Lab Service Agreement for bus driver and student drug testing, an Athletic Broadcast Agreement with KGVE 99.3 radio station, and a three-year agreement with Oklahoma Health Care Authority will all be voted on by the board.
The board will also vote whether to approve:
Quote for insurance on buildings, vehicles, and liability.
A three-year statutory waiver/deregulation for the Upper Elementary Librarian and for the Middle School Librarian.
The Professional Development Plan.
Renewing memberships to Oklahoma State School Board Association, the Oklahoma Public Schools Unemployment Compensation Account and with OSAG as Worker's Compensation Company.
Approval of changes to the school’s handbooks.
The renewal of the Sublease Agreement dated July 1, 2015 between the school and Delaware County Educational Facilities Authority for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018,
