VBS at Foundation Free Will

Volunteers at Foundation Free Will Baptist Church will host the final night of "Over the Moat" Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 9, at the church.

The event is open for students pre-kindergarten to sixth grade. It's free and open to the public.

VBS at Lake Center Baptist

Volunteers will host the final day of “Galactic Starveyors” Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 9, at Lake Center Baptist Church, Monkey Island.

A VBS service will take place on Sunday, June 11, with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., and a program at 11 a.m., with a family fun carnival to follow.

St. Andrew's Summer Series

Volunteers at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Grove will host the St. Andrew's Community Dinner Theatre Summer Series.

The first event, "Candlelight Cabaret" will feature local entertainer Terry Jordan. He will perform highlights from his Branson show at 6:30 p.m., Friday, June 9, at the church.

Seating is limited and by reservation only. The meal will feature cabaret seating around the church's new Grand Piano, a silent auction and more. Tickets are $50 per person or $90 per couple.

County Line Revival

A County Line Revival will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 10, at the Old Saline Courthouse in Rose.

It will feature The Issacs, Ronny Hinson, Victory Road, Cornerstone, Heartland Express, Corey Hensley and Springstreet, along with John R. Bowman.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Concessions will be available. Coolers are welcome, however no alcohol will be allowed.

Treasure Quest at Cornerstone

Students Kindergarten to Sixth Grade are invited to participate in Treasure Chest, every Sunday at 10:15 a.m. at Cornerstone Church, Grove.

During the next two weeks, Sunday, June 11 and 18, the event will include a huge indoor bounce house and ice cream sundaes with hidden treasures. While the students are at the activities, parents may partake in morning worship.

First UMC VBS

Volunteers at First United Methodist Church in Grove will host "Hero Central" a Vacation Bible School, from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, June 12 to Thursday, June 15, at the church, located at 1005 Leisure Road, Grove.

VBS at Mt. Hermon Church

Volunteers at Mt. Hermon Church in rural Jay will host a Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 12 to Friday, June 16, at the church, 18035 East 420 Road, Jay.

A bus will pick children up at the Jay Walmart parking lot from 5:15 to 5:30 p.m., each evening and return for drop off at 8:15 p.m.

The VBS evening program, and bike drawing, will take place at 6 p.m., Friday, June 16.

VBS at Grove’s First Baptist

Volunteers at Grove’s First Baptist Church will host the Vacation Bible School “Galaxy Starveyors - Discovering the God of the Universe” from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, June 12 to 16, at the church.

Community Fish Fry

Volunteers will host a community fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, June 17, at the church, 555 East Third Street, Grove.

The all-you-can-east meal is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12. The evening will include a Bluegrass jam from 4 to 6 p.m., live bluegrass music at 6 and 8 p.m., and a pie auction at 7 p.m.

Men against violence luncheon

Officials with the Community Crisis Center will host a Men Against Violence Luncheon from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, at First United Methodist Church, Grove.

Tickets are $10 per person or $80 per table. Lunch will be provided by Okie Smokies. Delaware County District Attorney Kenny Wright will serve as the guest speaker.

The gathering is for men of all ages and is designed to help end domestic violence through education, awareness and social change.

Splash Bash at Cornerstone

Volunteers at Cornerstone Church, Grove, will host a Splash Bash: Family Fun in the Sun from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 24, at the church, 501 South Main, Grove.

The event is free and open to the public. It will include water games, a dunk tank, hot dogs, ice cream and more.

Parents are encouraged to accompany their children and play together. Vouchers will be given for a family fun day prize package for each family who is able to return to worship the next morning at 10:15 a.m.

Bluegrass Jam at St. Andrew's

Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the weekly Bluegrass Jam from 6 to 9 p.m., every Monday, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Grove.

All ages and levels of ability are welcome. The event is open to the whole family.

People are encouraged to participate or sit back and listen. Free coffee and water are provided.

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The event is designed to provide soup to anyone, no questions asked. No preaching, just "made from scratch soup."

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community.
