Volunteers with the town of Langley will host a "Movies in the Park," a free family-friendly event, in the Village Park in Langley throughout the next three months.

The season, which kicks off Friday, May 26, will feature eight movies outside in the Village Park, in the south baseball field, at dark.

Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets an hour or so before the movie begins.

Movies include:

• May 26 - Max

• June 9 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

• June 16 - Mary Poppins

• June 30 - Rogue One, a Star Wars Story

• July 14 - The BFG

• July 28 - The Blind Side

• Aug. 11  - A Dog's Purpose

• Aug. 25 - Pete's Dragon

If there is a chance of inclement weather, the movie will be shown the following week.

Members from the First Christian Church of Langley's youth group will offer snacks and drinks as a fundraiser during the movies. Sponsors for this year's event include: Arden Dorney, Langley Drug, Langley Tag Agency, Los Garcia’s, Reasor’s, Riggs Saloon, the Grand Laker, Valley National Bank, Walker’s Hardware and Lumber and Vinita Daily Journal .
