Barbara Jean ‘Bobbi’ Kinkaid, 68, Grove died on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Freeman Health System Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, after a brief illness.
She was born July 18, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Bobbi’s passion was her relationship with Jesus Christ and the faith-based program, Celebrate Recovery.
Bobbi and her husband, Bob Kinkaid, were Celebrate Recovery leaders for 10 years. She displayed God’s grace, love and compassion to all who attended the program and to all she came in contact with during her life.
She encouraged people she met along her life’s journey that struggled with issues how Jesus wanted to walk beside them on their journey to recovery.
Bobbi mentored many young women and befriended everyone at Celebrate Recovery. She often remembered significant recovery milestones with a card she carefully chose for the member.
Bobbi often shared her testimony without any reservation not to bring attention to herself but to show the mighty power of God and what a joyful and peaceful life a person can live by walking with Jesus.
Bobbi was full of joy and it beamed throughout her body, but especially through her eyes and smile. Her joy was evident through her infectious smile and her joy beamed stronger in bad times. Her smile never faded. Her charm and grace brought joy and beauty to all and to every situation.
Bobbi is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Bob Kinkaid; her mother, Edna; and her brother and sister, Michael and Margie.
She is also survived by her children: Paige, Heni, Kelli, Kris, Rob and John; 11 grandchildren: Jason, Alexa, Dylan, Jessica, Ali, Jordyn, Delaney, R.J., Jenna, Zander and Gage; and four great-grandchildren: Titus, Enoch, Marlowe and Garrett.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 20, at Newsong Church located on Highway 59 south of Grove.
