GAMA Farmers' Market

The Grove Area Merchants Farmers' Market is open for the 2017 season.

The market, organized by GAMA members, takes place from 8 a.m. - noon every Wednesday and Saturday at the Grove Community Center, 104 W. Third, Grove.

This is a producer-only market. Everything is handmade or home-grown. Spots for vendors remain available. Local musicians interested in taking part in the market are encouraged to do so.

Grove Chamber Business After Hours

Members of the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 18, at Nichols Funeral & Cremation Services, 9611 U.S. Highway 59, Grove.

Outdoor Summer Movie Series

Volunteers with the City of Miami will host an Outdoor Summer Movie Series at Riverview Park and Miami Municipal Swimming Pool, on three dates this summer.

The first night, set for 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 19, will feature Trolls at Riverview Park. Admission for that show is $5 per vehicle. In the event of bad weather, the movie will be moved to the Civic Center.

The other movies, set for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, June 10, features The Sandlot, and 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, features Moana. Both of those screenings will take place at the Miami Municipal Swimming Pool. For those shows admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids and those 5 and under are free.

Food trucks will be available for each evening. Participants are encouraged to "pack up the kids, grab your baskets" and join the fun.

FNB 125th Celebration

Legends and Lassos, the 125th anniversary celebration for First National Bank, will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 20, at the Craig County Fairgrounds, 915 East Apperson Road, Vinita.

The event will feature a mechanical bull riding competition - which includes Jonas Rabel, Mark Londagin, Marty Follis, Matt Carnes - at 8 p.m., judged by top PBR athletes. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Other actives include live music by Reverse Reaction, Will Rogers Interpreter Andy Hogan, a variety of children’s activities and more.

Afton Poultry Swap

The next Afton Poultry swap take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21, at the swap location - 53991 East Highway 59, Afton, near Buffalo Ranch.

The event includes everything from goats, calves, pigs, rabbits, dogs, pigeons, chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, cats, parrots, cockatiels, lumber, tin, incubators, arts and crafts, fruits and vegetables, shirt painting, quilts, rugs, garage sale items, flea market items and more.

This is the 30th year for the swap. A 30th anniversary celebration will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 21, at the Tin Barn at the Afton Poultry Swap.

AARP Driver Safety Program

Local classes for the AARP Driver Safety Program will take place in March to December. The one-day course is six hours in length. Drivers will be able to obtain a discount from their insurance carriers for taking the course.

The classes are open to all interested drivers, including those who have taken it in the past. Upcoming class dates are Wednesdays, May 24, Aug. 30, Sept. 27, Oct. 4 and Nov. 29, and Saturdays, June 17 and Dec. 9.

First Friday Wine Share

The first Friday Wine Share will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Grand Lake Sailing Club, 31650 South 605 Road, Grove.

Participants are asked to bring their favorite bottle of wine. Singles may bring a bottle every other month, couples are asked to bring one per month. Participants are also asked to bring their own wine glass and an appetizer to share.

This month's event will feature the theme "Sailing and Boating."
