Blackwood Brothers in Concert

The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, an award-winning gospel music group, will perform at 7 p.m., Friday, April. 21, at Trinity Baptist Church, Grove.

This is the sixth appearance by the Blackwoods in Grove.

Finish the Race 5K

Volunteers at First United Methodist Church, Grove, will sponsor a 5K/Fun Run “Finish The Race” at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 23, to benefit area foster families.

The 5K costs $20 per person, while the fun run costs $10 per person. The 5K will increase to $25 after April 20. There is a fee of $2.50 to register online, which ends on April 22.

Packet pickup will begin at 2 p.m., with the one mile fun run starting at 3 p.m., and the 5K beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Revival at Zena Baptist

GriefShare at Bible Baptist

A 13-week long GriefShare Class will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sundays, beginning Sunday, April 23 to July 23, at Bible Baptist Church, 28050S. 630 Road, Grove.

The class is free, however the companion book is $20.

The sessions are designed to help people who have had losses, no matter how long ago or recent. It is also designed help people know that everyone grieves differently and how to try and cope with the changes after they lose someone.

Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Boy Scout Troop 78 will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 24, at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Leisure Road, Grove.

The meal, for $5 per person, is all you can eat and will help offset expenses incurred by the scouts.

GriefShare at First Baptist

GriefShare, a series of 13-week sessions will take place at Grove's First Baptist Church, Grove, now until Monday, June 19.

The sessions are for anyone grieving the death of a family member or friend. Participants do not have to attend every session. The workshop is free. A companion workbook to use during the workshop will cost $15.

Blended & Blessed

A free one-day event for blended families, Blended & Blessed, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at Rivers of Life Event Center, Grove.

The event, a one-day livestream simulcast, is designed for stepfamily couples, single parents, dating couples with children, and those who care about blended families.

It's designed to unpack the five keys that are crucial for healthy stepfamily marriages. The event is free, however space is limited. Daycare for children ages 2 and above will be available offsite at First Assembly of God, Grove.

Lunch will be provided. The event is sponsored by Family Life Ministries and the Grove Ministerial Alliance. Rivers of Life is located at 400 Industrial Road A, near the Grove Municipal Airport.

Thrifty Style Show

The Thrifty Style Show and Salad Luncheon, to benefit the Christian Mission Thrift Store, will take place at noon, Thursday, May 4, in the West Wing at First United Methodist Church, Grove.

Fashions will be modeled from the Christian Thrift Store. Participants are asked to bring a salad to share. Proceeds will benefit the thrift store.

Members of the Grove Ministerial Alliance will host a prayer service Thursday, May 4, on at Grace Harbor Baptist Church, Grove, to mark the National Day of Prayer.

The event will follow the soup and sermon format and begin with a soup meal at 11:30 a.m., followed by the prayer service at noon.

Bluegrass Jam at St. Andrew's

Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the weekly Bluegrass Jam from 6 to 9 p.m., every Monday, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Grove.

All ages and levels of ability are welcome. The event is open to the whole family.

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The event is designed to provide soup to anyone, no questions asked. No preaching, just "made from scratch soup."

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community.
