Healing Garden Workday

A workday for the Boy Scout Healing Garden of Grove will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 15, at the garden located at 29700 South 660 Road, Grove.

The garden, an Eagle Scout project for James Plummer, is designed to provide fresh, free produce for veterans, seniors and those in need within the community.

GrandLakeLife to launch

Grand Lake Life.Church will launch with a 7 p.m. worship service on Sunday, April 16, at NewSong Church, Grove.

The church, pastored by Richie and Kathy Castaldo, is being formed as a partnership between Pastor Craig Groeschel of Life.Church in Edmond, and Pastor Marty Dyer with NewSong Church in Grove.

The services will take place at 7 p.m., each Sunday, at NewSong, 61980 East 353 Road, Grove, approximately four miles south of Honey Creek Bridge on Highway 59 between Grove and Jay.

GriefShare at First Baptist

GriefShare, a series of 13-week sessions will take place at Grove's First Baptist Church, Grove, now until Monday, June 19.

The sessions are for anyone grieving the death of a family member or friend. Participants do not have to attend every session. The workshop is free. A companion workbook to use during the workshop will cost $15.

Blackwood Brothers in Concert

The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, an award-winning gospel music group, will perform at 7 p.m., Friday, April. 21, at Trinity Baptist Church, Grove.

This is the sixth appearance by the Blackwoods in Grove.

Finish the Race 5K

Volunteers at First United Methodist Church, Grove, will sponsor a 5K/Fun Run “Finish The Race” at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 23, to benefit area foster families.

The 5K costs $20 per person, while the fun run costs $10 per person. The 5K will increase to $25 after April 20. There is a fee of $2.50 to register online, which ends on April 22.

Packet pickup will begin at 2 p.m., with the one mile fun run starting at 3 p.m., and the 5K beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Grief Share

A 13-week long Grief Share Class will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sundays, beginning Sunday, April 23 to July 23, at Bible Baptist Church, 28050S. 630 Road, Grove.

The class is free, however the companion book is $20.

The sessions are designed to help people who have had losses, no matter how long ago or recent. It is also designed help people know that everyone grieves differently and how to try and cope with the changes after they lose someone.

Members of the Grove Ministerial Alliance will host a prayer service Thursday, May 4, on at Grace Harbor Baptist Church, Grove, to mark the National Day of Prayer.

The event will follow the soup and sermon format and begin with a soup meal at 11:30 a.m., followed by the prayer service at noon.

Bluegrass Jam at St. Andrew's

Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the weekly Bluegrass Jam from 6 to 9 p.m., every Monday, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Grove.

All ages and levels of ability are welcome. The event is open to the whole family.

People are encouraged to participate or sit back and listen. Free coffee and water are provided.

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The event is designed to provide soup to anyone, no questions asked. No preaching, just "made from scratch soup."

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community.
