The Ridgerunners struggled against Oologah, falling twice to the Mustangs.

The first game was played on Monday, April 10, in Grove and resulted in a 17-2 win for Oologah. The second game was played on the following day in Oologah and also resulted in a win for the Mustangs.

Oologah 17, Grove 2

The game started with a bang for Oologah who scored ten runs in the top of the first. Grove responded with runs from Braxton Pennington and Chat Hayes. 

The Mustangs scored three more runs in the top of the third and added another four in the fifth. 

The game ended at the bottom of the fifth. 

Grove had three on the mound for the game, Hayes, Chase Kretuz and John Downs. Together the three threw 157 pitches, eight hits, walked ten batters and earned four Ks. 

The Ridgerunners had five hits during the game, two from Toby Cearley and one from Pennington, Hayes and Keener. 

Oologah 5, Grove 2

Grove faired better on the road, holding Oologah to just five runs. 

The Mustangs scored one run in the bottom of the first to draw first blood. Oologah scored another three runs in the bottom of the third. 

Grove was able to score runs when Jonas Chaney and Hayes crossed the plate in the top of the fourth. 

Oologah scored the final run in the bottom of the fifth. 

Braxton Pennington was on the mound for the Ridgerunners. Pennington threw 103 pitches, allowed seven hits, five runs, walked two batters and earned seven Ks. 

Kretuz had two hits, while Hayes, Cearley and Keener each had one. 

The Ridgerunners will be back on the diamond at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, in Grove.
