The uncle and nephew team of Troy and Kobe Crites won the 45th Annual Green Country Gigging Association Tournament this past weekend at the gigging flats on Lake Eucha.

"This is a family tradition," said Troy Crites. "This has been became something we can do together. It's the love of the sport."

This is the eighth year that the duo has competed in the tournament, which took place Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8. 

The pair outdistanced the rest of the field for the title with 287.18 points.

"We used patience, determination and a lot of hard work. It is all about teamwork," Crites said, adding the pair caught most of their fish in the old creek area.

The team of Tommy and Jason Foreman finished in second place with 278 points while John Dingsor and Steven Helfinstine brought in 250.94 for third.

Cale Wiese and Bryan Lane had 231 points for fourth with Mike Shotpouch and Stetson Summerfield in fifth with 203.04 points.

Jesse Copeland and Michael Johnson had 191 points for sixth, Ridge Kevin Sturges seventh (178), Levi White and John Lawson eighth (175), Chance Tudor and T.J. Thomas ninth (156), Jason Tanner and Daniel Curry in 10th place and 155.52 points.

Steve and Greg Wilson had the biggest fish a 24.85 pound carp.
