Colcord traveled to Oaks on Thursday, April 6 to take on the Lady Warriors and Locust Grove. The Lady Hornets dropped Oaks 12-5 while losing to the Lady Pirates 13-5. The Lady Hornets went on the road Monday, April 10 to Ketchum falling to the Lady Warriors 11-3 and Class 4A, 18th ranked Wyandotte 7-4.
Colcord 12 Oaks 5
Colcord up 1-0 in the top of the first inning when Shawnee Nichols scored on a Kinder Kelley double. Oaks tied the game in the bottom of the inning with Allison McCullin coming home on a Machayla McKie single. McKie followed to give Oaks the lead off a single from Krishton Watkins.
Colcord regained the lead in the top of the second inning when Abby Simmons doubled on a ground ball to shortstop scoring Jennifer Martin and Bailee Fowler.
Harlie McKie doubled on a line drive to score Allison McCullin.
The Lady Hornets regained the lead in the top of the fourth when Meegan Ellis scored off a Martin single who followed on a Bailee Fowler hit. Nichols moved the Colcord advantage to 7-5 when Nichols doubled to score Claire Dunn and Bailee Fowler. Nichols followed on a Kaylee Potter sacrifice single.
Colcord finalized their scoring in the top of the fifth inning.
Oaks added their final two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on runs from Aleigha Dry and McCullin.
Colcord had 19 hits in the game and Oaks 13.
Locust Grove 13 Colcord 5
Colcord took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a Nichols run and a Kailee Fowler single. The Lady Hornets went up 2-0 in the second off a Michaela Ellis score.
After Locust Grove tied the game in the bottom second Colcord regained the lead in the top of the third on a Kelley score.
But the advantage was short lived as the Lady Pirates doubled the score in one swing of the bat with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the third.
Bailee Fowler cut the Locust Grove lead to two 6-4 when she came home on a Nichols triple. Nichols then finalized the scoring for Colcord on a Makayla Phan single.
Locust Grove pulled away in the bottom of the fourth inning with seven runs.
The Lady Hornet finished with 15 hits led by Nichols with three. Kailee Fowler and Michaela Ellis had two hits. Phan, Kelley, Martin, Potter and Meegan Ellis all had one hit.
Wyandotte 7 Colcord 4
Colcord scored two runs in the top of the first inning when Summer Tuell and Kailee Fowler scored off hits from Kelley and Meegan Ellis.
Their final two runs came in the top of the fourth inning after Meegan Ellis scored off a Potter hit and Phan came home on a Martin sacrifice fly.
Tuell and Meegan had two hits each while Kelley, Phan, Potter, Bailee and Kailee Fowler one each.
Ketchum 11 Colcord 3
Nichols gave the Lady Hornets the excitement for the day when she hit a line drive past the first baseman and scored on an in the park home run in the top of the third.
Colcord had added their first two runs in the top of the second inning when Meegan Ellis scored off a Dunn single and Phan crossed home plate on a Martin single.
Kelley, Phan and Meegan Ellis all had two hits each while Nichols, Dunn, Potter, Martin and Simmons all had one hit each.
Colcord found out Friday, April 7 where their district playoff destination would be. They along with Hulbert will travel to fifth ranked Oktaha. The games are to be played between April 17-22.
