KETCHUM - Jay Lady Bulldogs battled their way to the Ketchum Tournament championship on Friday, March 3 beating Salina 22-1, Wyandotte 14-4, Colcord 14-1 and Fairland 12-1.
Colcord finished fifth beating Salina 13-1, Ketchum 14-4 while falling Jay 14-1 and Wyandotte 12-2.
Jay 14 Colcord 1
The Lady Bulldogs scored seven runs in the first inning to take the early lead. Creekkiller led the team going 4-4 while Marissa Lokey and Stoddard were 3-4. Jay had 23 hits in this game.
Jay added two runs in the third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth. Colcord had four hits in the game. The Lady Hornets added their lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The six Colcord hits came from six players. Kailee Fowler, Dunn, Nichols, Kelley, Ellis and Kaylee Potter all had hits for Colcord. Kelley had the lone RBI for the Lady Hornets.
Jay 22 Salina 1
Jay hammered out 23 hits and 22 RBI's as they blew past the Lady Wildcats. Senior Haley Dry finished 3-4 with six RBI's while junior Jessie Summerfield and sophomore Breezy Stoddard both had three RBI's.
Summerfield finished 3-3 at the plate and Stoddard 2-3. Senior Marissa Lokey and junior Regan Dry were also 3-3 at the plate. Freshman Crissanna Allen and Maggie Lokey also were 2-3 batting.
Marissa Lokey scored four runs in the game while Summerfield had three.
Jay 14 Wyandotte 4
Jay scored three runs in each of the first and fifth innings and doubled that with six in the seventh.
Haley Dry once again had six RBI's for the Lady Bulldogs while Creekkiller had three.
Dry, Marissa Lokey and Summerfield were 3-4 batting while Regan Dry was 2-3 and Creekkiller 2-4.
Marissa Lokey and Summerfield both scored three runs in the game.
Jay 12 Fairland 1
Creekkiller was the big hitter in this game as Jay had 13 hits. Creekkiller was 1-3 with five RBI's including a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth that finalized the scoring.
Summerfield, Caitlin Taylor and Lexi Taylor were all 2-3 with Allen 2-2. Lexi Taylor had three RBI's.
Wyandotte 12 Colcord 1
Colcord finished with six hits in the game with senior Kinder Kelley and junior Jennifer Martin leading the way going 2-2. junior Kailee Fowler and sophomore Summer Tuell also had hits in the game. Senior Meegan Ellis and Martin had the two RBI's for Colcord.
The Lady Hornets scored their first run in the bottom of the third inning when Kailee Fowler scored off a Ellis sacrifice single and added the second an inning later as Tuell crossed home plate off a Martin hit.
Colcord 13 Salina 1
The Lady Hornets out hit the Lady Wildcats 11-3 in the game. Kelley finished 2-3 in the game and Tuell 2-2. Ellis, junior Shawnee Nichols, Kailee Fowler, senior Claire Dunn, Martin and sophomore Bailee Fowler also had hits for Colcord.
Tuell, Kailee Fowler, Dunn and Bailee Fowler all scored two runs for the Lady Hornets.
Colcord 14 Ketchum 4
Colcord found their bats in this game smashing out 22 hits. Freshman Makayla Phan and Tuell had the hot bats in this game. Both finished 4-4 with Tuell also having four RBi's in the game.
Phan also scored three runs to lead Colcord. Nichols, Kelley, Ellis, Martin and Bailee Fowler had two hits in the game. Kelley had five RBI's in the contest.
