Meet some of the new faces at the Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake: Jewell, Mulligan or Belle.

Jewell is a "jewel" of a cat, ready to find a new scratching post to call home.

Mulligan has been at the shelter for a while. He came in with sarcoptic mange and a big case of the itchies, but other than a needing to lose a bit of weight, he's recuperate and ready to find his forever home.

Belle is a special senior dog available for adoption. Other than a the need for a bit of weight loss, she is sweet and ready to share some love with a new owner.

A fundraiser to help raise monies to support animals like Jewell and the others is being planned by volunteers to take place in May.

Volunteers are currently gathering items for the silent auction and for the wine pull. For more information, or to donate items, persons interested may bring the items to the shelter, the Second Chance Thrift Store on Third Street, or call 479- 644-8616.

Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake is located on Highway 10, two miles east of the stoplight at Third and Main, in Grove.

Shelter hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. After hour appointments are available at 918-786-7630.
