Michael Martin Murphey in concert

Country music performer Michael Martin Murphey will perform in a benefit concert at 7:30 p.m., on Friday, March 10, at the Flying Cow Arena, Afton.

The concert benefits Crossroads Horse Ministry, and will provide funds to support the young mens’ discipleship program. Participants will have a chance to “adopt-an-intern”, and help provide funds for food, housing and other necessary expenses.

Tickets are $10 per person for adults, children 12 and under are free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Stations of the Cross

Boy Scout Healing Garden groundbreaking

A groundbreaking ceremony, for the Boy Scout Healing Garden of Grove, will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, at the garden located at 29700 South 660 Road, Grove.

The garden, an Eagle Scout project for James Plummer, will be designed to provide fresh, free produce for veterans, seniors and those in need within the community.

Fifth Annual Soup & Sermon

The Fifth Annual Soup & Sermon series, sponsored by the Grove Ministerial Alliance, will take place on Tuesdays, now to April 11 during the lenten season.

Community Bereavement Classes

Community Bereavement Classes have been set for the four Mondays in October at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital. The classes will be from 7 to 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Weekly topics are as follows; April 6 - An Overview of Grief; April 13 - Spiritual Aspects of Grief; April 20 - Sharing Our Story and; April 27 - Criteria for Reconciliation.

Gary Bishop, chaplain at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital and class facilitator, said the classes deal with a variety of losses and are designed to be an encouragement for people experiencing loss as well as educational. The classes are free and open to the public. They are informal sessions.

Brave Women's Conference

Finish the Race 5K

Volunteers at First United Methodist Church, Grove, will sponsor a 5K/Fun Run “Finish The Race” at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 23, to benefit area foster families.

The 5K costs $20 per person, while the fun run costs $10 per person. The 5K will increase to $25 after April 20. There is a fee of $2.50 to register online, which ends on April 22.

Packet pickup will begin at 2 p.m., with the one mile fun run starting at 3 p.m., and the 5K beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The event is designed to provide soup to anyone, no questions asked. No preaching, just "made from scratch soup."

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community.
