Jay Lady Bulldogs battled their way to the finals of the Tri-State Classic Basketball Tournament, falling to Kansas 63-25 for second place. Jay had beaten Seneca JV 70-7 and East Newton 63-42.

Kansas girls ran out early an early lead and held on for a 63-25 win the Tri State Basketball Tournament girls championship Saturday, Jan. 21.
The Lady Comets led 19-3 after the first quarter and 39-12 at halftime. Kansas continued to control the game in the second half with a 24-13 scoring advantage.
Callie Callihan was the leading scorer for Jay with 18 points and Haley Dry 10 to put two Lady Bulldogs in double figures. Sydney Taylor added six points, Mya Pickup three, Alexa Duncan and Kyla Rogers two.
Jay 63 East Newton 42
Wins have been hard to come by for the Jay Lady Bulldogs but they find themselves in the finals of the Tri-State Basketball Tournament after beating East Newton, Mo. 63-42. Jay led led 14-10 after the first quarter and 30-22 at halftime. Three Lady Bulldogs finished in double figures with Kaitlin Taylor and Callie Callihan scoring 15 while and Haley Dry 14. Kyla Rogers added seven points, Jessie Summerfield six, Sydney Taylor four and Mya Pickup two.
Jay 70 Seneca JV 7
Jay Lady Bulldogs ran out to a 31-2 lead in first half of their game with Seneca JV en-route to a 70-7 win over the Lady Indians. Two three's from Haley Dry and six points from Callie Callihan put Jay up 12-2.
Kyla Rogers added five points in the first quarter and Jay led 22-2 at the end of the first quarter. They continued their dominance throughout the game to a 70-7 win in their opening game of the Tri-State Tournament.
They were led in scoring by junior Callie Callihan with 25 points while senior Haley Dry added 11. Rogers had nine points for Jay, Alexa Duncan and Landry Sweeney five, Mya Pickup and Sydney Taylor four while Jessie Summerfield, Mikela Woods and Caitlin Taylor chipped in two points each.
