Kansas JV finished the Tri-State Basketball Classic Tournament in Jay as consolation bracket champions. The Lady Comets fell to East Newton High School 39-28, beat Seneca JV 47-7 and Jay JV 34-23.

Kansas JV 34 Jay JV 23

Kansas JV, with a 20-18 lead at halftime, outscored Jay JV 14-5 in the second half to win the consolation trophy 34-23. Kansas scored the first nine points in the game before Jay made a run and cut the Lady Comets lead to one point, 19-18, at halftime.

Callie Fencer led the scoring for Kansas with eight points while JLynne Bryant had six. Addison Gregory, Bailey Golden and Shelby Sapp four, Taylor Kingfisher and Haley Buck three and Jordan Squire two.

Kansas JV 47 Seneca JV 7

Kansas JV girls basketball team overwhelmed Seneca JV, holding them to no points in the first half to lead 31-0. The Lady Indians didn't score until midway through the third quarter leading to a Kansas JV 47-7 win over the Lady Indians.

Callie Fencer led the Lady Comets with 12 points while Addison Gregory finished with 11. Bailey Golden added nine points JLynne Bryant five, Jordan Squires three while Taylor Kingfisher, Haley Buck and Scott had two each.

East Newton 39 Kansas JV 28

East Newton High School girls basketball team out of Granby, Missouri outscored Kansas JV 18-8 in the second half to come away with a 39-28 victory over the Lady Comets. East Newton led 7-5 after the first quarter and 21-20 at halftime.

JLynne Bryant and Callie Fencer combined for 13 points to lead Kansas. Karrah Brickey led East Newton with 16 points.
