Delaware County Commissioners approved a fair board appointment as well as other items during their weekly meeting on Monday, Jan. 23.
Here are four things to know from this week's meeting:
Commissioners approved the appointment of Jana Haynes to the District 2 seat on the Delaware County Fair Board.
Commission Russell Martin (District 2) said the appointment of Haynes was because no other candidate filed for the election for the seat and Haynes missed the filing period because of a family emergency.
Corey Crittenden (District 1) and Charlotte Carnes (District 3) were incumbents and ran unopposed for their seats. Haynes was also an incumbent.
The board approved the setup of the highway cash account for February. Each district will receive $70,302.97 for road and bridge projects and maintenance.
The total amount received for the county is $210,908.91.
Commissioners approved the payment of a detention invoice during their meeting Monday.
The claim, made by the Tulsa County Juvenile Bureau, was for $2,115.75.
The board approved the re-advertisement of bids on behalf of the Lakemont Shores Fire Department.
The sealed bids will be for the sale of one Hahn pumper truck and the winning bid will be accepted at a later date once the bids are received.
The commission’s next meeting will take place at 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 30, at the Delaware County Courthouse in Jay. The meetings are open to the public.
