Vintage Car Rally Association founder and director Rex Gardner recently awarded four grants, of a combined $42,290 through proceeds from the VCRA's 2016 "Race for Autism" initiative.
Donations were made to the following schools: Sherwood Center in Kansas City, Missouri - $12,000; Larned Public Schools, Larned, Kansas - $12,645; Sunshine School, Searcy, Arkansas - $10,180; and Families For Autistic Children, Virginia Beach, Virginia - $7,465.
Funding from the grants go directly to purchase needed sensory, communication, auditory, and visual equipment necessary to improve and expand the school's teaching programs and allow for more student enrollments.

All proceeds from rallies and other events go to the charity fund. All VCRA principals and the 25 staff members are volunteer, assuring that the maximum amount goes to the fund.
VCRA has donated more than $580,000 to autism schools, programs and chapters in need since it was founded in 2006. For more information, or to make a donation, persons interested may visit www.vintagecarrally.com.
