Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the weekly Bluegrass Jam from 6 to 9 p.m., every Monday, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Grove.

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community.

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The Wild Eats at Bernice Nature Center

Every Saturday, at 1 p.m., the staff at the Grand Lake State Park - Bernice Nature Center hosts a "Wild Eats" where park staff feed the park animals for the public.

The event is designed to let participants learn how and what food animals eat, along with why a proper diet is required for all living things.

Senior Citizen Dance

A senior citizen dance takes place at 6:30 p.m. every Saturday, at the Grove Senior Center, 145 East O'Daniel Parkway in Grove.

Story time on Monkey Island

Voter registration deadline

Friday, Jan. 20, is the deadline to register to vote in the Feb. 14 annual school election. Voters may register at the County Election Board office, 225 South Fifth Street, Jay, at most post offices, tag agencies and public libraries throughout the county. 

Voters must be 18, United States citizens, and residents of Oklahoma to register to vote.

Rummage Sale at GHS

Members of the Grove High School Speech Team will host a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Grove High School Commons area.

Note this rummage sale was originally scheduled for Jan. 14, but the date was changed due to pending inclement weather.

Eagle Watch

Les Love, certified ad specialist and branding consultant with Eskimo Joe's promotional products group, will serve as the guest presenter.

Lighthouse pregnancy fundraiser

The annual fundraising dinner, for Lighthouse Pregnancy Center in Jay, will take place at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, at the RFC Event Center.

Tickets are $35 per person or $250 for a table of eight. The event will include a silent auction and $5 chocolate bar. Brad Jinks, who works part-time with the center’s SHAPE program, will be the featured speaker.

Tulsa Boat Show Excursion

Members of the South Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will host a "party bus excursion" to the Tulsa Boat Show on Monday, Jan. 30. 

The Grand Party Bus will leave Reasor's parking lot in Langley at 5 p.m., while the Grove bus will leave the Grove Civic Center at 4 p.m., with the return trip back to the lake scheduled for approximately 9 p.m., from the show. 

This is the first year to have two buses for the show. The trip will include light hors d'oeuvres and complimentary refreshments. Tickets are $35 per person which includes the trip and entry into the show.

O&A Honor Flight Valentines

The first Oklahoma & Arkansas Honor Flight Valentine's Dinner will take place at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Siloam Springs Community building, 110 North Mt. Olive Street, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Tickets are $50 per couple. The event will include a meal and a drawing for door prizes ranging from $50 to the grand prize worth $500. A guardian seat on the flight will also be one of the prizes. All proceeds benefit the hospital by providing supplies, equipment and/or scholarships for employees furthering their education in the healthcare field. 

The event will also include free screenings and entertainment throughout the afternoon by the Grove High School Jazz Band and Cheers! Tumblers.

The 2017 Art in the Garden, the annual art show at Lendonwood Gardens, Grove, will take place on Saturday, May 6.

Artisans are encouraged to reserve a space for $25. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Artists will retain all proceeds from the sale of their work. Entrance to the garden on this day is free to the public.
