Bluegrass Jam at St. Andrew's

Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the weekly Bluegrass Jam from 6 to 9 p.m., every Monday, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Grove.

All ages and levels of ability are welcome. The event is open to the whole family.

People are encouraged to participate or sit back and listen. Free coffee and water are provided.

Caring Kitchen/Feed My Sheep

Volunteers with The Caring Kitchen and Feed My Sheep have combined efforts to provide their services on the same day.

The Caring Kitchen, now located at 11th and Washbourne, in Jay, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, while Feed My Sheep will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, across the roadway in its facility.

Caring Kitchen 2.0 will provide a nutritious meal once a week in its new location in Jay. Feed My Sheep will provide a food pantry for those in need on the same day.

The combined operation is designed to allow the two organizations to join forces in order to serve members of the community.

DayBreak of Grove

DayBreak of Grove, a program for seniors and respite care for caregivers, takes place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday, in the Cedar Oaks RV Park Community Room, 1550 North 83rd Street, Grove. It includes singing, crafts, chair exercises, lunch, games and other activities.

Taste of Grace

Taste Of Grace, a free soup outreach ministry, organized by members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Grove, will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday, at the church.

The event is designed to provide soup to anyone, no questions asked. No preaching, just "made from scratch soup."

The Wild Eats at Bernice Nature Center

Every Saturday, at 1 p.m., the staff at the Grand Lake State Park - Bernice Nature Center hosts a "Wild Eats" where park staff feed the park animals for the public.

The event is designed to let participants learn how and what food animals eat, along with why a proper diet is required for all living things.

Senior Citizen Dance

A senior citizen dance takes place at 6:30 p.m. every Saturday, at the Grove Senior Center, 145 East O'Daniel Parkway in Grove.

The event is free, snacks are provided by attendees. Donations will be accepted to defray the costs of coffee and tea.

Story time on Monkey Island

The story time at the J. Weber Lending Library on Monkey Island will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month, at the Port of Entry shopping center, just south of the intersection of Highway 125 and 85A, going towards Monkey Island.

Winter camp meeting

The winter camp meeting, hosted by Pastors Rhonda and David Knox of Grove, will continue on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Grove Christian Center.

The meetings will take place at 7 p.m. nightly. Speakers include Revivalist Josh Radford, with Kirk DuBois, Billye Brim and Johnny Hale.

Footprints in the Dew

Oklahoma writer and columnist Dale R. Lewis, aka “the Original Buffalo Dale,” will show his completed documentary on the unsolved murder of Oklahoma rancher E.C. Mullendore III, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Coleman Theatre in Miami.

The documentary "Footprints in the Dew: The Last Ten Tapes," is based on the extensive interviews Lewis conducted for his bestselling book "Footprints in the Dew: Chub Anderson and the Unsolved Mullendore Murder."

Linn to address DCRW

Mark Linn, Grove businessman and insurance professional, will be the guest speaker during the January meeting of the Delaware County Republican Women.

The meeting, set for 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 16, takes place at Charlie's Chicken in Grove. If the Grove Public Schools administration cancels school on that day, due to inclement weather, then the meeting will also be canceled.

Linn will speak about life insurance programs and the advantages of those products in today's culture.

The new officers for 2017-18 will be on hand during the meeting to answer questions. Those officers include Rebekah Russell, president, Sherry Sanders, secretary, and Grace Zieba, treasurer. The meetings are open to the public.

Tulsa Boat Show Excursion

Members of the South Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will host a "party bus excursion" to the Tulsa Boat Show on Monday, Jan. 30. 

The Grand Party Bus will leave Reasor's parking lot in Langley at 5 p.m., while the Grove bus will leave the Grove Civic Center at 4 p.m., with the return trip back to the lake scheduled for approximately 9 p.m., from the show. 

This is the first year to have two buses for the show. The trip will include light hors d'oeuvres and complimentary refreshments. Tickets are $35 per person which includes the trip and entry into the show.
