Faye Melea Earp Porter, 84, of Kansas, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2016, at her home.
Born April 7, 1932, in Delaware county, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Albert “Bert” January and Ina (Little) January.
Faye lived most of her life in Delaware county, but spent some years in Chouteau and Kansas City, Missouri.
She was a homemaker and worked in the Colcord and Mazie, Oklahoma school systems. She retired from N.E. VoTech, in Pryor.
Faye and Ardell Porter were married May 4, 1990. She was a member of the Kansas Church of Christ, Kansas.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Mack Earp, son Kenneth Porter, granddaughter January Earp, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband Ardell of the home; sons Dennis Earp and wife Jill of Quapaw, and Mike Earp and wife Cheryl of Skiatook; step-daughters Paula McKinzey and husband Jim of Creighton, Missouri, Judy Mann and husband Mike of Kansas City, Missouri and Carol Ann Foster and husband Alan of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; daughter-in-law Trish Porter of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6, at Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, with burial following at Row Cemetery, Colcord.
