Farmers and Ranchers will have one more reason to visit the Delaware County Fair this year. The Jay Farm Show will be held in conjunction with the fair.

“We have about 40 vendors that said they will be attending the show,” said Paul Patterson, coordinator of the event. Vendors are not charged a fee to come to the Jay Farm Show and spaces are available on a first come — first served basis.

Farm related business from three states are planning to be on site including farm equipment dealers, poultry suppliers, feed dealers, vet supplies, insurance and truck dealers.

“We have vendors coming from as far as north as Joplin and as far south as Tontitown, Arkansas and Pryor,” Patterson said.

The Jay Chamber is hoping for a good turnout this year since the event was rained out last year. “Everyone was real positive last year, despite the rain out,” said Patterson, “we’re looking for a really good show this year.”

This is the 2nd year that the farm show will be held at the fairgrounds site. The show had previously been held downtown.

The Roadkill Chili Cookoff will be held during the Farm Show hours from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. and the Roughstock Rodeo will take place at 8 p.m.
